从失败中学习
The first time I entered the school speech contest, I forgot my whole speech in the middle of the stage. I stood there for what felt like a year, and then I walked down without finishing.
我第一次参加学校演讲比赛时，在台中间把整篇稿子忘得一干二净。我站在那里，感觉像过了一年，然后没讲完就走下了台。
For weeks I could not even look at the notice board where the results were posted. I told myself that public speaking was simply not something I could ever be good at.
有好几个星期，我连贴成绩的公告栏都不敢看。我告诉自己，公开演讲根本不是我能擅长的事情。
Then my English teacher asked me a question that I still remember: what exactly went wrong, and when? By answering it honestly, I discovered that I had never practised in front of real people.
后来英语老师问了我一个至今记得的问题：到底是哪里出了问题，什么时候出的？老实回答之后，我发现我从来没有在真人面前练习过。
The next term I practised with three classmates, and I came fourth in the same contest. Failure is not the opposite of success; it is the information you need in order to get there.
下学期我和三个同学一起练习，同一场比赛我拿了第四名。失败不是成功的反面，它是你走向成功所需要的那份信息。
